The short version
Relay is a client for a hub you run yourself. It has no accounts on our servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. The app communicates only with the hub URL you enter — we operate no service that receives your content, and we never see your signals.
What Relay accesses — and where it stays
- Your hub URL and relay key are stored locally on your device and sent only to the hub you point Relay at, to authenticate your requests.
- Signals, sources, destinations, and rules are fetched from, and written to, your hub. They travel between your device and your hub only; they never reach us.
- Demo mode uses sample data generated entirely on your device with no network activity.
- Camera (optional) is used only to scan the pairing QR code shown by the desktop app. Nothing from the camera is stored or transmitted.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, Relay may register this device’s Apple Push Notification token with your hub so the hub can deliver alerts to you. The token is sent only to your hub. Local notifications for new signals are generated on-device while the app is open.
Purchases & subscriptions
Relay Pro is an optional purchase — an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) or a one-time Lifetime unlock. Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. To validate purchases and unlock Pro across your devices we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier, your purchase/subscription status, and basic device information — never your name, email, or the content you use Relay with. We do not receive your payment details; Apple handles all payment information. See also Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Data we collect
None on our side. We run no servers that receive your content, and Relay contains no analytics or tracking SDKs. The only data that leaves your device goes to the hub you chose, and to Apple/RevenueCat for purchase validation as described above.
Retention & deletion
We hold nothing about your usage, so there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. Local data — your hub URL, relay key, and preferences — is removed when you delete the app. Any signals or sources live in your hub and are managed there. To end billing, cancel the subscription in the App Store.
Children
Relay is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
