The short version
Podcast Studio offers a local guest workspace and an optional cloud-connected production workspace. Guest inspection reads a selected recording’s filename, size, duration, and audio or video track counts on your device without uploading or retaining the file. If you choose cloud production, Podcast Studio uses your email address to provide an account, stores the recordings, production state, and project content you upload, sends media to OpenAI for transcription, and sends transcript text to OpenAI to generate episode and social content. Supabase and Vercel also retain authentication, request, and runtime diagnostics needed for account security and service operation, including request IP-derived coarse location. Podcast Studio does not contain advertising or analytics SDKs and does not use your information for cross-app tracking.

Recordings and transcripts may contain personal information about you or other people. Upload only content you own or have the right and permission to process.
Guest workspace
You may continue without an account and inspect a recording locally. Podcast Studio uses Apple’s AVFoundation framework on your device to read the selected file’s filename, byte size, duration, and number of audio and video tracks. Guest inspection does not upload the file, create an account, or retain a copy. An account is requested only if you choose cloud transcription, saved episodes, transcript editing, or generated content.
How processing works
- The iPhone, iPad, or Mac app sends media to cloud storage only after you sign in and choose the cloud production workflow.
- The processing service retrieves the media and sends the recording, or its audio, to OpenAI’s transcription API to produce text and timestamped segments.
- Transcript text is sent to OpenAI’s text-generation API to create the episode metadata and social copy described above.
- The transcript, generated content, and your segment edits are stored with the episode so they remain available in the app.
Service providers
The following processors receive information only as needed to operate Podcast Studio:
- Supabase provides authentication, database storage, media storage, and service logging. Supabase authentication logs automatically associate an account event with request metadata such as IP address and user agent; API, Auth, Storage, and Edge logs can retain response status, route, error, and request metadata. - Vercel hosts the backend that coordinates uploads and processing. Vercel automatically processes end-user IP and IP-derived city or country, device and system information, request or usage information, and runtime diagnostics as part of operating the hosted service. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice.
- OpenAI processes media for transcription and transcript text for content generation. See OpenAI’s Privacy Policy.
These providers may process information in locations described in their own policies. Podcast Studio does not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Retention and deletion
Account and episode information is kept so your workspace remains available across sessions. Uploaded media, transcripts, production status, segment choices, and generated content remain associated with your account until they are deleted or you request deletion, except where limited retention is reasonably necessary for security, backup recovery, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Supabase and Vercel authentication, request, and diagnostic records are retained for provider- and plan-dependent periods and may remain for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and service reliability after workspace content is deleted.
Delete your account in the app: while signed in, open the Account menu, choose Delete Account, review the permanent-deletion warning, and confirm Delete Account and All Data. Podcast Studio removes your private media and export objects, authentication account, episodes, transcripts, edits, generated content, clips, and job history. This action cannot be undone.
You may also request help by emailing isaiahdupree33@gmail.com from the address used to sign in. Use the subject Podcast Studio data deletion and do not attach private media. After deletion, residual copies may remain temporarily in processor backups or limited security, fraud-prevention, and legal records under the exceptions above and the providers’ retention practices. Signing out ends the local session but does not delete cloud data.
Security
Podcast Studio uses authenticated accounts and encrypted HTTPS connections when communicating with its cloud services. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please use an email account you control and do not share one-time sign-in codes.
Children
Podcast Studio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for or collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here and the “Last updated” date will be revised. Material changes will be communicated where required.
