The short version: CloseCircle keeps your family's content on your device. It sends limited, anonymous, content-free product analytics to help improve the app. It has no advertising, account system, or cross-app tracking.
What stays on your device
Family names and relationships, feed items, stories and drafts, help-request text, and scam-check input and explanations are stored locally in the app's container. The scam checker runs on-device. CloseCircle does not upload this content. A bounded mood choice from a completed check-in may be included in the anonymous analytics described below.
Anonymous analytics
CloseCircle sends the following to Supabase for product analytics:
- a random installation identifier and random session identifier;
- app version, build number, platform, event time, and analytics schema version;
- screens viewed and foreground-active seconds, with background and extended idle time excluded;
- completed workflow details limited to bounded categories and durations, such as a mood choice, quick-pick versus typed help request, story input method and recording duration, and a safety-check verdict and broad risk band.
The analytics payload never includes family names, relationships, messages, story questions or text, story drafts, help-request text, scam-check input, scam reasons or advice, feed content, or local record identifiers.
How the data is used
We use this data only to understand whether workflows are completed, measure foreground-active usage, diagnose the product experience, and improve CloseCircle. It is not used for advertising, sold to data brokers, or used to track you across apps or websites. The random installation identifier is not an Apple advertising identifier and is not linked to your name, email, or an account.
Security, retention, and deletion
The analytics endpoint accepts inserts but does not allow app clients to read event records or reporting views. Analytics events may be retained while they are useful for product measurement and security. Deleting CloseCircle removes ordinary local app data, including its random installation identifier and any unsent analytics queue. To request deletion of analytics associated with an installation, email us before deleting the app so we can provide instructions for identifying that installation without collecting family content.
Third-party services
Supabase hosts the analytics database and may process ordinary service metadata under its privacy policy. Apple distributes the app and applies its own privacy practices. CloseCircle does not include advertising or behavioral-tracking SDKs.
Children
CloseCircle is designed for family use but is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
