Sonance Scribe

Consent-first meeting recording and private, on-device transcripts.

About

Sonance Scribe is a consent-first meeting recorder for people who want useful transcripts without sending meeting audio to a bot or cloud transcription service.

HOW IT WORKS
• Press Start to record system audio and your microphone as separate local tracks
• Stop to run Apple's on-device speech recognition
• Read or export a clean Markdown transcript
• Retry transcription from the meeting library if recognition is interrupted
• Keep raw audio, reveal it in Finder, or delete it after a transcript succeeds

Screen Recording permission is used only for system audio after you press Start. Microphone access records your local track. Meeting files and the library index remain on your Mac. Always record with everyone's knowledge and consent.

Getting started

  1. Choose a folder for meeting files.
  2. Confirm everyone knows and consents, then press Start to record system and microphone audio as separate tracks.
  3. Press Stop, review the on-device transcript, and export Markdown or retry from the meeting library.

Frequently asked questions

Does meeting audio leave my Mac?

No. System and microphone audio are stored as separate files in the folder you choose, and transcription uses Apple's on-device speech recognition.

Can I retry a failed transcript?

Yes. The meeting library keeps the local file references and transcription state so you can retry without recording the meeting again.

Does it join meetings or record automatically?

No. Sonance Scribe does not join calls, inspect calendars, or record silently. Recording starts only after you press Start, and you are responsible for obtaining everyone's consent.
